Due to Overwhelming Demand, Datsik to Perform Twice in NYC in One Week

16 Jan

Following last Saturday’s sold out leg of the Firepower Reloaded tour at the Best Buy Theater, dubstep producer and overall bad boy Datsik has announced he will be returning to NYC this Friday, January 18th. Datsik, aka Troy Beetles, was originally scheduled to perform this Friday in Asbury Park, NJ, but do to “venue restrictions as well as an overwhelming demand” event organizers decided to move the show to Irving Plaza.

Since his premier in 2009, the young artist has seen a huge rise in success, with top slots at nearly every festival across the country, numerous chart-topping releases, and collaborations with the likes of BassnectarExcision12th PlanetFlux Pavilion, and Diplo, it’s easy to see why Datsik is in such high demand. The Firepower Reloaded Tour is continuing through the 25th of January, and features support from our boy GRiZBrillzRekoil and Barron. Tickets for the rescheduled Friday show at Irving Plaza are still available here!

gLAdiator – Bitch Slap (Original Mix) ft. FERAL is KINKY

9 Nov

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…I give you- gLAdiator. Danl Goodman and Ian Johnson are two of LA’s finest! This purple-and-gold bleeding duo bumps trap, moombah and electro stylized beats that captured my attention almost a year ago now, and I’ve been a loyal fan ever since. These two bring the energy so hard in their sets and also happen to be a couple of the nicest and chillest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of hanging out with. They’ve FINALLY decided to release the original version of this banger,Bitch Slap’, which they started previewing in their sets earlier this summer, including EDC Vegas which had the whole crowd wondering “seriously, who the fuck are these guys….” FERAL is KINKY does her thing and spits a dope little reggae verse that leads to the mother of all moombah drops, (seriously, just wait). With recent support from Diplo, ƱZ, Baauer, Flosstradamus, and Dillon Francis; these boys know just what they’re doing and I can’t wait to see their style and fan base expand even further over the new year. Visit their soundcloud for more beats and monthly mixes and be sure to like their facebook page and show the homies some love!

*BUMP the speakers for the drop at 1:29, please.

5 Artists You Don’t Want to Miss at Electric Zoo 2012

28 Aug
We’re only three days away from the start of Electric Zoo and all the hype is seriously starting to takeover my week. While the amount of talent that Made Event is bringing to Randall’s Island in 2012 is basically unrivaled anywhere else in the world this time of the year, we’ve decided to highlight a handful of EZoo artists that you might not be too familiar with. Hit the jump to hear what we have to say about these guys before you map out your game plan for this weekend!

Clockwork – Titan EP [New Release]

27 Aug

New from the NYC based artist Clockwork, comes a ferocious EP off Diplo’s Mad Decent record label. Clockwork is known for having an ultra heavy and super bassy sound that is absolutely unique. Inside the two-track EP you’ll find that ‘Titan’, has a very moombah/dutch/big room house sort of feel, where as ‘BBBS’, the B Side, is a track consisting of the same mayhem as previous Clockwork tracks (such as my favorite: ‘Airflow’). Both songs are extremely catchy will surely help Clockwork spread his name even farther across the EDM scene. Check this stuff out, it’s fully loaded and pretty damn rowdy!

Electric Zoo 2012 (Set Times)

22 Aug

Yesterday our friends over at Made Event released the Official Set Times for this year’s Electric Zoo, which is set to blast off next weekend over Labor Day in New York City. The popular festival (now in its fourth year) is shaping up to be more than epic this time around on Randall’s Island with an all-star lineup and curated tents from the likes of Fools Gold & Dim Mak! The level of talent that EZoo is able to bring to New York each year is truly impressive and that certainly makes our jobs harder as there’s always gonna be conflicting sets when you put this many big boys in the same venue. Some of the artists making the trip this year include: 12th Planet, A-Trak, Above & Beyond, Adrian Lux, Adventure Club, Axwell, Bart B More, Benga, Benny Benassi, Bingo Players, 3LAU, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Dada Life, DallasK, Datsik, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Diplo, EOTO, Excision, Ferry Corsten, Flux Pavilion & Doctor P, Gesaffelstein, Hardwell, Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, Knife Party, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, Mat Zo, Michal Menert, Mord Fustang, Morgan Page, Mt. Eden, Nervo, Nick Catchdubs, Nicky Romero, Paper Diamond, Pierce Fulton, Porter Robinson, Pretty Lights, Rusko, Sander Van Doorn, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Tommy Trash, Treasure Fingers, Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd, Zeds Dead and more…like come on. Hope to see everyone out there – tickets are still available below but they’re going quick!

Is everyone ready for the Carnival? No? Throw on the most recent set release from Major Lazer and get in the spirit! 62 tracks of bubbly jungle, to head-bob-enducing moombah and even the best and latest reggae on the scene.
