Due to Overwhelming Demand, Datsik to Perform Twice in NYC in One Week

16 Jan

Following last Saturday’s sold out leg of the Firepower Reloaded tour at the Best Buy Theater, dubstep producer and overall bad boy Datsik has announced he will be returning to NYC this Friday, January 18th. Datsik, aka Troy Beetles, was originally scheduled to perform this Friday in Asbury Park, NJ, but do to “venue restrictions as well as an overwhelming demand” event organizers decided to move the show to Irving Plaza.

Since his premier in 2009, the young artist has seen a huge rise in success, with top slots at nearly every festival across the country, numerous chart-topping releases, and collaborations with the likes of BassnectarExcision12th PlanetFlux Pavilion, and Diplo, it’s easy to see why Datsik is in such high demand. The Firepower Reloaded Tour is continuing through the 25th of January, and features support from our boy GRiZBrillzRekoil and Barron. Tickets for the rescheduled Friday show at Irving Plaza are still available here!

Electric Zoo 2012 (Set Times)

22 Aug

Yesterday our friends over at Made Event released the Official Set Times for this year’s Electric Zoo, which is set to blast off next weekend over Labor Day in New York City. The popular festival (now in its fourth year) is shaping up to be more than epic this time around on Randall’s Island with an all-star lineup and curated tents from the likes of Fools Gold & Dim Mak! The level of talent that EZoo is able to bring to New York each year is truly impressive and that certainly makes our jobs harder as there’s always gonna be conflicting sets when you put this many big boys in the same venue. Some of the artists making the trip this year include: 12th Planet, A-Trak, Above & Beyond, Adrian Lux, Adventure Club, Axwell, Bart B More, Benga, Benny Benassi, Bingo Players, 3LAU, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Dada Life, DallasK, Datsik, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Diplo, EOTO, Excision, Ferry Corsten, Flux Pavilion & Doctor P, Gesaffelstein, Hardwell, Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, Knife Party, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, Mat Zo, Michal Menert, Mord Fustang, Morgan Page, Mt. Eden, Nervo, Nick Catchdubs, Nicky Romero, Paper Diamond, Pierce Fulton, Porter Robinson, Pretty Lights, Rusko, Sander Van Doorn, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Tommy Trash, Treasure Fingers, Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd, Zeds Dead and more…like come on. Hope to see everyone out there – tickets are still available below but they’re going quick!

Joey Paranoia

4 Jun

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you all to a longtime friend and even better artist, Joey Paranoia. While the name might imply some sort of timidness, this seasoned vet certainly isn’t afraid of anything when it comes to electronic music…better yet, you’d probably end up being the person who was afraid. Everything from hard-hitting Electro to Dubstep and even Moombahton – Joey’s got it covered. While Mr. Paranoia has made quite the name for himself in Florida and the greater Orlando area, it’s his edgeyness and overall knowledge of EDM which seeps out of each and every production he touches, that will ultimately deliver him into the spotlight. Some say he might just have the touch, I’d say his style has been carefully crafted: combining influences from the early 2000’s rave scene in San Fransisco with the best of today’s bass music and a shit ton of originals has enabled Joey to present his music to live audiences the way he always wanted to; allowing himself to break free from the restrictions of just djing…no headphones, no A to B mixing, just a big ‘ol Ableton pad and a limitless live performance. You gotta respect the man for consistently keeping it fresh in the studio and clubs. Going further, there’s something to be said for a performer who can always have something pretty and something equally as dark in his music. I’ll always love going to see Joey live…not only does he know how to party, but you’ll rarely recognize a song you hear in his sets and they’ll all make you boogy. For someone who’s into new music like we are, that’s an impressive and often over-looked feat. Clearly other people like seeing him bounce around the stage too as Joey has played at Sunset Music Festival, EDC Orlando and Starscape in the past year! The Smile For Camera artist has shared the stage with some of the hottest DJ’s in the business including Afrojack, Dada Life, Skrillex, Datsik, Dillon Francis, Tommy Trash and more. All in all we’ve got 5 tracks, a Free Download and one sick video for Joey’s latest release ‘Nothing Left’ that features footage from his performance at Firestone with Zeds Dead this fall. Hit the jump to see what all the fuss is about and for some updates on Joey’s upcoming shows!

Dubstomp Wompday #49

18 Apr

Ok folks, we’re gonna be honest right off the bat…there’s a new Skrillex song in this post. Now we know that some people despise Sonny, he’s a polarizing figure no doubt, but his sheer talent and popularity amongst the bass community is undeniable. Love him or hate him, his new track ‘Make It Bun Dem‘  featuring Damian Marley is as good a dubstep track as any and I found it to be worthy of a post. There are plenty of other bangers packed inside this edition of Dubstomp Wompday. From Figure to Noisia to Datsik, there’s more than enough bass to go around this week…get to jammin’ Jammers.
