Electric Zoo 2012 (Set Times)

22 Aug

Yesterday our friends over at Made Event released the Official Set Times for this year’s Electric Zoo, which is set to blast off next weekend over Labor Day in New York City. The popular festival (now in its fourth year) is shaping up to be more than epic this time around on Randall’s Island with an all-star lineup and curated tents from the likes of Fools Gold & Dim Mak! The level of talent that EZoo is able to bring to New York each year is truly impressive and that certainly makes our jobs harder as there’s always gonna be conflicting sets when you put this many big boys in the same venue. Some of the artists making the trip this year include: 12th Planet, A-Trak, Above & Beyond, Adrian Lux, Adventure Club, Axwell, Bart B More, Benga, Benny Benassi, Bingo Players, 3LAU, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Dada Life, DallasK, Datsik, David Guetta, Dillon Francis, Diplo, EOTO, Excision, Ferry Corsten, Flux Pavilion & Doctor P, Gesaffelstein, Hardwell, Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, Knife Party, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, Mat Zo, Michal Menert, Mord Fustang, Morgan Page, Mt. Eden, Nervo, Nick Catchdubs, Nicky Romero, Paper Diamond, Pierce Fulton, Porter Robinson, Pretty Lights, Rusko, Sander Van Doorn, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Tiesto, Tommy Trash, Treasure Fingers, Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd, Zeds Dead and more…like come on. Hope to see everyone out there – tickets are still available below but they’re going quick!

Dubstomp Wompday #66

15 Aug

It’s Dubstomp Wompday and, as usual, we have a mother-load of low frequency treats for all our loyal bass cadets. This week there’s a few more previews than normal, but don’t sleep on all these jams because they’re absolute masterpieces. Some of my favorites in this post come from the likes of Document One, Phetsta, MitiS, Xilent, Seven Lions, and especially xKore. We’ve also got free tracks from DKS, Chords, VoidDS, Forekast, and a throwback from MiMOSA. But be careful ladies and gents…Episode 66 trends toward the heavier region of the genre. Now let’s get to steppin’. Continue reading

Above & Beyond – Small Moments Like These (Video + Free Download)

28 Jun

It’s hard to imagine more beautiful, uplifting trance than that that is produced by Jono, Tony, and Paavo. As their name suggests, their music and their connection to their fans goes Above & Beyond. They don’t just make songs that you so happen to like. They make songs that you genuinely love and feel. Songs so deeply attached to you that they draw out an almost emotional response. In my opinion that’s what separates trance from other genres of EDM, and through their work Above & Beyond evoke this feeling time and time again.
