Datsik-vortex

Following last Saturday’s sold out leg of the Firepower Reloaded tour at the Best Buy Theater, dubstep producer and overall bad boy Datsik has announced he will be returning to NYC this Friday, January 18th. Datsik, aka Troy Beetles, was originally scheduled to perform this Friday in Asbury Park, NJ, but do to “venue restrictions as well as an overwhelming demand” event organizers decided to move the show to Irving Plaza.

Since his premier in 2009, the young artist has seen a huge rise in success, with top slots at nearly every festival across the country, numerous chart-topping releases, and collaborations with the likes of BassnectarExcision12th PlanetFlux Pavilion, and Diplo, it’s easy to see why Datsik is in such high demand. The Firepower Reloaded Tour is continuing through the 25th of January, and features support from our boy GRiZBrillzRekoil and Barron. Tickets for the rescheduled Friday show at Irving Plaza are still available here!

Legendary NYC-Club, Cielo, Celebrates It’s 10th Anniversary with 10 Wild Events!

9 Jan

Cielo_Mixmag_Advert

Over the last ten years we have witnessed a sea change in the electronic dance music world. To the joy of many, and perhaps the dismay of some, EDM has become as much a mainstay in popular culture as pop music before it. Trends have come and gone, and even genres of music have eventually evolved in that time, but we can all take comfort in knowing that over the last decade a staple of NYC’s house and techno scene has remained consistently true to itself. Cielo, one of New York’s most infamous boutique dance clubs is celebrating their tenth anniversary with ten special events throughout the month of January.

Last month PB&J reviewed Eats Everything’s NY debut, and we were simply blown away be his performance at this remarkable venue with its striking backdrop and award-winning soundsystem.  While the city has no shortage of night clubs, few venues of such an intimate size can boast a roster including Benny Benassi, Laidback Luke, Chris Lake, Treasure Fingers, Boris, Sander Van Doorn, Paco Osuna, Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg, Gareth Emery, and hundreds of other impressive acts.

Cielo plans to kick off the celebration on January 10th with the first of ten spectacular events all the way up to January 31st. We hope to see you there to kick of the next decade.
