Decadence 2012 – Sets it would be a shame to miss!

28 Dec

DENVER, CO – This Monday night, Denver is going to be graced by an exorbitant number of big name sets. Most of these artists probably compelled you to buy the Decadence ticket in the first place. I know when I saw ATB, Wolfgang Gartner & Zeds Dead on the same bill, I was overwhelmed by musical genius; so many genres will be presented in those three sets alone! However, now that you’re already going to the biggest party this glorious state has to offer, there are a few other names on that billing which would be a shame for you to miss!  The first two!

JOMAN: With a thick portfolio of creative originals and remixes, this is the first name on the list that should lead to regret if missed. His will definitely be a tough set to catch with the security, but if you’ve experienced one of Joman’s shows before in the greater Denver area, than you know your friends will not be too upset about getting to the party slightly before “fashionably late”.  Head on over to his Soundcloud to become a bit more familiar!

ECOTEK: Another, less-than-common name from Denver; Ecotek has been tracking from festival to festival and opening for every big name that comes through this beautiful city. The first time I heard him spin, I had to ask everyone around me who this incredible showman was on stage! Since then, I’ve heard him countless times, and I’m never disappointed with what he has to offer. His set will be a bit easier to catch, being right after Wolfgang’s, so stick around and listen to his ridiculous amount of talent on the decks!

We’ll be featuring a few others tomorrow evening, so be sure to check in and find out if you won!

When the name Steve Aoki is brought into conversation, his original material is not generally the topic of discussion. With only one studio album under his belt, the focus is generally directed at his multitude of remixes, off-kilter and humorous videos, and of course you can’t forget about all the cakes and champagne. Earlier this week, Aoki dropped an EP in honor of this whole apocalypse thing. “It’s the end of the World as we Know it” brings forth three new original tracks; Singularity, Omega and Transcend. Hit the jump for our full review!

14 Dec

We’re gonna start this week off on a bit of a livelier note. The original of this first track had such a big influence on my high school musical taste (that initial drop at 00:38, yeah it was that good that i remember the timestamp!). RL Grime has been doing big things lately and I’m so impressed!
