Wild Bunch – Final Product #2 [Disco Mix]

20 Dec

Final Product #2-1

Wild Bunch brings us the second installment of his not-so-monthly-but-always-tasty “Final Product” mix series. This time around he captures the happy-times holiday vibe and puts a poolside spin on it with help from artists such as Classixx, Kartell, Disclosure and  Snakeships’ remix of Wild Belle’s “It’s Too Late” that gets me every. damn. time. The mix is just over 35 minutes and we can promise you it will be time well listened. Check out Wild Bunch’s Soundcloud for past mixes and stay tuned for the next one. Tracklist after the jump, cheers.

ARTist Spotlight: Blair Berger [Abstract Art + Music]

5 Dec

Disco Cake

Here’s a little curveball for all the art and music lovers out there. I’d like to proudly introduce to you a legend of a man that goes by the name of Blair Berger. The artist, surfer, and all around wildman currently resides in Malibu, CA, and creates abstract paintings like you’ve never seen. His process is a well-kept secret, but here’s what we can say: he collects broken surfboards from his avid fans and gives them a new chance at life through his art. Each piece contains fragmented fiberglass attached to a wooden board which he then covers with several layers of acrylic paint. I feel his artist statement sums up his work pretty damn well:

“The work is a product of the way in which I view the world, and also the way I see myself. It is self-conscious and self-critical to a highly specific aesthetic, and feel. The process is aggressive and the work reflects a strong tension between two opposing forces.”

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to a brand new artist here on PB&J™ that goes by the name of Wild Bunch. Mr. Bunch is an extremely talented up and comer that specializes in the most danceable smooth groove sound I’ve heard in ages, which he personally describes as, “punchy disco, very french.” The  27 minute mix takes you on a journey over 19 tracks, some of which you’ve heard before, but never quite like this. If you’re looking for a fresh spin on your beloved disco, this is the mix for you. Please enjoy responsibly, and be sure to follow Wild Bunch on Soundcloud for future monthly-ish mixes. Justice – NRJ Extravadance Mix

22 Aug

Xavier de Rosnay (left) and Gaspard Augé (right), better known as Justice, which you better f*cking know by now, recently debuted this rare and eclectic mix for NRJ Radio in France. The 54-track, 120 minute mix is fat with surprises from many different genres that are sure to please everyone from the seasoned vet to the Skrillex obsessed amateur. I’ve been waiting for something like this from Justice since their Essential Mix in ’08 (yeah, it’s that good), and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. I’ve included the tracklist after the jump but I don’t recommend checking it out until after you listen to the mix. Trust me. Over and out.

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso BBC Radio One Essential Mix Live @ Priviledge (Ibiza) (8/11/2012)

12 Aug

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso spun back to back essential mixes at Club Priviledge Ibiza yesterday for BBC Radio One. Both mixes are pretty standard in my opinion because we’ve been hearing these same tracks being played out all year, aside from the new SHM track and a small handful of others. However, if you’re looking for a ‘Greatest Hits’ mix from Seb and Alesso that’s high quality, you came to the right place. Listen and download below, courtesy of…tracklist after the jump.

Alesso – Clash (Jakob Liedholm’s Smasher Edit)

18 Jul

15 year old Swede, Jakob Liedholm, known for his latest remixes of Avicii, Sebastien Ingrossoand Tommy Trash, brings his talents to this track by cranking up the bass to a grinding level 11 and turning Alesso’s unreleased single, ‘Clash’ into an absolute pit smasher. As always, keep your ears pealed for new music coming out Sweden, otherwise known as the Mecca of EDM.
