30 Aug

Alright, this one is going to be nice and short – if you don’t know these two then you’re just not paying attention. I’m going to assume everyone knows Pacha (NYC), disregarding the off chance that you’re reading this by mistake. Sunnery & Ryan, arguably resident DJ’s of this domestic incarnation of Ibiza’s definitive night club, are making yet another appearance this Friday!  If you’re in town for Electric Zoo or just looking for something to do in the city then you better get your ass down to one of the rowdiest clubs in New York City for these two right here.

Soul Clap – Live at the Boiler Room [Set]

19 Aug

Soul Clap now y’all. The fledgling powerhouse, the dynamic, painfully funky duo of minimalism known as Soul Clap has blessed us with a German import that is so weird I don’t know what to call it. Nay, I can only attempt to describe it and contextualize it as best as I can. Hailing from Boston, these two young audible astronauts have been touring with a vengeance since their career year in 2010. This mix is filled with forgotten classics and incomprehensible samples, while it may just be DJ Eli bringing the heat in this episode it’s evident that he is not fooling around. Things get deep, things get heavy, but Eli maintains that bizarre sense of humor that has set Soul Clap apart from its predecessors and imitators throughout this 47 minute freakshow. Get your strangest friends together, turn out the lights and turn up the weird if you’re going to soul clap to this interplanetary braingasm.

Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – RADIO FG USA [Mix]

19 Aug

Big ups to our good friends Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman for bringing us another late-summer mix packed with all the main stage hits you’d expect and a loud peppering of chart climbers to ease the transition of getting back to school. Try not to get suspended before October, I know it might be tempting but do yourself a favor and rage responsibly so you can stick around and jam to this vocal-heavy, pop-progressive set until it gets stale. This twosome of Swedes out of Stockholm are making a name for themselves this year with their ear for anthems, and who doesn’t love a high-energy show these days? Get up to get down people.

Example – Say Nothing (Hardwell & Dannic Remix) [Preview]

15 Aug

U.K. popstars putting out those good-good vocal tracks. Much love goes out to Example & Dirty South for singing and producing (respectively) the original; this chart-bait has inspired Hardwell to pair up with fellow Dutchman Dannic and abandon his aggressive sound for a more laid-back, “playing a show with Kaskade, look at all the girlfriends” kind of vibe. Love a good remix, love a song our audience can play in the car after dark without asking to get pulled over – not saying it’s gonna top Beatport, but you may just hear it on pop radio! The remix debuts in full on September 16th via Ministry of Sound.

Gregori Klosman – KLOSMANIA 15 [Live at Cielo NYC]

15 Aug

Ohhh baby let’s get it!  This is my sh*t right here, well done Mr. Klosman. NYC club Cielo is well known and revered in the history of House music in the United States, and Gregori’s respect for the venus is evident as he performed a three-hour set there in his first ever appearance last week. Some deep and heavy house is mixed with a good deal of noisy tech and even more nasty from a self proclaimed French guy…

Tracklist and download after the jump!

Hard Rock Sofa – July/August 2012 [Podcast]

14 Aug

Another great session.  It seems like there’s too much going on out there to cover, but we’re trying damnit. Currently touring the US and Canada, Russian duo Hard Rock Sofa is still reeling in the success of their summer anthem Here We Go’ as they cruise up charts and polls and keep churning out mix after mix for their fans. Got to respect the hustle. With that, enjoy the progressive, enjoy the big roomers; enjoy the hits from artists like Deniz KoyuAlesso, and others as you get deep into this mix.

John Dahlbäck – Comet [Joia Records]

14 Aug

Hard-hitting Swede John Dahlbäck’s much anticipated ‘Comet’ dropped on Beatport today, everybody relax. Released through Luciano Ingrosso’s Joia Records, home to some of JD’s hits since 2006, this driving, frantic house anthem isn’t quite a return to his usual low-end jams, but it ain’t no ‘Embrace Me’ either. Not that he’s made a habit of following trends, ‘Comet’ seems to be a call to “Here We Go”, “1234″, and other up-and-down screamers from this year’s festival season. Regardless as to where he got the inspiration, I like it – with high energy synthesizers, hand claps and a steady 128 bpm, I will “bounce” indeed Mr. Dahlbäck.
